Anchored Hope counselors have extensive Biblical training to apply God’s Word to every counseling situation. Besides their knowledge of Scripture and doctrine, each counselor has counseling skills and wisdom that comes from education and experience. Each counselor is committed to assess situations through the lens of God’s Word, while maintaining an understanding of clinical care and a willingness to work with medical professionals.

Ashley Boroughs
Biblical Counselor
Ashley has a background in youth and young adult ministry. She holds an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ashley has experience counseling women through worry, anxiety, relational issues, body image issues, self-harm, identity difficulties, and much more. Walking through some of these issues herself, she has seen the powerful working of God in her life, so she has a deep desire to lead other women down a path of healing, as well.
*Minors are seen on a case by case basis with the approval of the Counseling Supervisor. We strongly encourage the involvement of the parent or guardian.
Ben Buckman
Biblical Counselor
Ben has an M.A. in Counseling Psychology and Christian Ministry from Southern California Seminary, is a member of the Brazilian Association of Biblical Counselors where he teaches. He has over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field in different venues such as locked psychiatric facilities and outpatient mental health clinics. He has experience working with addiction, suicidal ideations, marital conflict, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and severe depression.
He is married to Kristiana and they have 5 children who range in age from 4 to 14. They are missionaries to Brazil and work primarily with the indigenous churches, training the indigenous leaders in Biblical counseling.

Jason Hsieh
Biblical Counselor
Jason loves helping people apply the Gospel to daily life. His areas of focus include strengthening marriages and family dynamics, difficult life transitions, depression, loneliness, worry, bitterness, anger, and long-term sins and addictions. Jason and his wife, Tracy, live in Grand Rapids, MI, where he serves as a pastor for counseling and discipleship at Trinity Baptist Church. Jason holds an M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and an M.S. in nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Maya JOhnson
Biblical Counselor
As a wife, mother of four, former church-planting missionary and current pastor’s wife, Maya is well-equipped and experienced in helping women as they struggle with ministry hurt and difficulties, anxiety, marital and family struggles, and more. Maya is educated in linguistics, and a certified biblical counselor through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Maya is passionate about helping women know and apply the Word of God to their struggles, and find help and healing in Christ. Maya lives in Nebraska, with her husband and three school-aged children. Maya loves sushi and exploring nature. She is fluent in Russian.

Mike Johnson
Biblical Counselor
Mike began ministry as a church-planter in Northern Asia, and has served as a pastor in the USA for the past 10 years. Currently, he serves as the Pastor for Preaching at Ridgeview Bible Church in Chadron, Nebraska. Mike holds a Master of Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary and has extensive experience and specialized training in the areas of marriage and crisis-marriage counseling, sexuality issues, depression and grief counseling. Mike also enjoys helping pastors & missionaries heal from ministry hurt and difficulties. He is married to Maya, and they have four children. They love traveling and exploring the great outdoors.

Tyson Lott
Biblical Counselor
Tyson has spent much of his ministry serving in homeless and addiction ministry while also serving as a lay counselor through his local church. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in Psychology and completed a M.A. in Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has worked with people struggling with fear, anger, anxiety, pornography, and addiction. He serves as the Director of Ministry Programs for Re:Center Ministries in Louisville, KY.
Tyson is married to Anna, and they have a young daughter and two dogs.

Megan Osborne
Biblical Counselor
Megan is passionate about helping people find peace with both food and their body as part of God’s beautiful design. She has fifteen years of experience in treating all types of eating disorders, emotional eating, chronic dieting, negative body image, overeating, and weight management through the lens of God’s Word to help restore people’s relationship with God and his gift of food. She graduated from Boise State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling. After her first three years of private practice, she went to seminary and completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Christian Counseling. Megan is married to Curt, and they have two middle-school children. Megan loves listening to books in her car. She is currently learning American Sign Language with her daughter.

Amy Tiede
Biblical Counselor
Amy is a Biblical Counselor certified by the International Association of Biblical Counselors and Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. She has a diverse background as a chemotherapy and neonatal ICU nurse, homeschooling mother, and military spouse.
She is especially attuned to the struggles of living away from family and the support of others. Her special areas of interest include marriage, parenting, military spouses, homeschooling, discontentment, social isolation in the role of homemaker, grief and dying concerns, struggles special to medical workers and caregivers, sexual trauma, and injury from those within the church.

Brian Walker
Biblical Counselor
Director of Southeast REGION
Brian comes to Anchored Hope Biblical Counseling with eighteen years of experience. Brian holds a Master of Divinity from Erskine Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Toccoa Falls College. He has also received training in Biblical counseling through the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation. He has worked with individuals experiencing difficulty within marriage, anxiety, pornography addiction and other relationship difficulties. He serves as the lead pastor of Lake Morton Community Church in Lakeland, FL. Brian and his wife, Kristen, have been married for 20 years, and they have three children.

Morgan DunforD
Counseling Fellow
Morgan has a B.A. in Human Services and is in her final semester at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary pursuing her M.A. in Christian Marriage, Family, and Adolescent Counseling. Morgan and her husband Drew currently serve at their local church with the youth and worship ministry. She focuses on women discipleship and event planning. Morgan also is the Executive Director of the New Life Center in Bardstown, Kentucky. She has a background in adolescent, individual, and marriage counseling. Morgan has had experience with anxiety, depression, self-harm, identity issues, as well as family, marriage, and relational issues. Through personal experience in some of these issues, Morgan has seen God’s love, mercy, and grace move in her life. This fuels her desire to not only learn more about Christ, but also pursue a life dedicated to Him.

Steven NGUYEN
Counseling Fellow
Steven has a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Counseling from Southern Seminary and is a current PhD student in Bible Exposition at Liberty University. He is a Level 2 Certified Biblical Counselor with the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, an ordained and licensed minister, and holds various health and wellness certifications such as ISAA-CPT, CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach. He is currently an Air Force Reserve Chaplain and is on staff with Athletes in Action (CRU). Steven has experience working with depression, anxiety, suicidal ideations, relationships, pornography/sexual addiction, moral injury, grief, trauma and PTSD.

REBEKAH HANNAH
Director of Counseling
Bekah has a passion for teaching the sufficiency of Scripture for everyday life. She is the Editorial Director of Gospel Taboo, an avid house renovator and has counseled for over a decade in various entities. She received a Master of Divinity in Theology & Biblical Counseling. Having extensive experience in leading churches and ministries, Bekah spends most of her time counseling church leaders and ministry staff. She enjoys writing, teaching, equipping and counseling. Rebekah is married to Andrew and has three daughters, Maggie, Charley and Ellis.
